Volunteer of the Month: Ed Rosenblum

Ed Rosenbloom has been a part of the Hudson Valley almost as long as the Woodstock Land Conservancy. He and his wife came to area in 1989, a year after WLC became a local organization. It seems natural, then, that Ed volunteers for us.

“Since I have been volunteering with the land conservancy, I’ve been involved with projects at most of the preserves,” Ed said. “A lot of what I have done recently revolves around keeping the preserve trails clear of fallen trees.” Land Stewards like Ed play an important role in helping us maintain the safety of our public trails, especially when storms bring down trees.

Ed is a fan of all of our preserves from the small trail at Zena Cornfield to the multiple trails at Israel Wittman Sanctuary, our largest preserve. “I spend a lot of time at the Israel Wittman Sanctuary,” he remarked. “It’s incredibly peaceful, and the varied terrain is as humbling as it is beautiful — a constant reminder of how critical it is to help preserve the environment that all living things share.”

We are thankful for Ed’s commitment to the lands we steward and are excited to honor him as Volunteer of the Month!
