When unexpected environmental issues happen, we leap into the fray to explore, educate the public and recommend action. We have testified in support of saving Winston Farm from development, and we are engaged in promoting trail connectivity between the Ashokan Rail Trail and Kingston to promote greater public safety, environmental protection, alternative transportation options, public health and economic development. We are currently a partner in the Stop Zena Development coalition, working to protect and preserve more than 600 acres, including a portion of forest that abuts our very own Israel Wittman Sanctuary.

While our core mission is to preserve and steward land, we understand the importance of standing up for forests, wetlands, vernal pools, flora, fauna, wildlife and their corridors.
