Film Series: “The Nature of Nature”
Description
Just how diverse are the ecosystems the Hudson Valley? The new feature “The Nature of Nature” will answer that question. Filled with incredible cinematography, the documentary explores the region’s habitats from tidal marshes to mountain forests, highlighting conservation efforts to protect native species and combat threats like invasive plants and wildlife overabundance.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion exploring the work of multiple organizations to protect these diverse habitats. Featured speakers include Gretchen Stevens, director emerita of Hudsonia; Laura Heady, biologist with the NYSDEC’s Hudson River Estuary Program and Cornell University; and WLC’s Executive Director Andy Mossey.
The event is offered at the Woodstock Jewish Congregation or online. You do not need to register if you are joining in person, but please click here to register if you need the Zoom link.
