WLC and the Comeau Trails Task Force
The Comeau Trails Task Force (CTTF) submitted a series of recommendations to safeguard and improve the trail system through the wild/undeveloped portions of the property. This April 2, 2010 letter contained WLC’s response to the CTTF Implementation Proposal, available on the town board website.
As stated in the conclusion of our response, WLC fully endorses the need to mitigate damage to the walking trails at Comeau and remediate environmental damage the current trails may be causing or compounding with increased use. As one important element of the Town's eventual Stewardship Plan for the Comeau, we support CTTF and the Town in their goal of realizing a safe and sustainable trail system, while taking care “to ensure the preservation of the natural beauty of the wild areas through which the trails extend” (CTTF Recommendations Report, page 1).
