Executive Director: Maxanne Resnick
Max's professional experience includes roles in New York City government, fundraising, and several entrepreneurial ventures. She served as Project Manager in the initial years of the development of Chelsea Market, New York City. Locally, she was a former co-owner of The Phoenicia Times and The Olive Press newspapers, and worked in sales at Solar Generation. Her volunteer projects include co-chairing the beloved "Meet, Greet, and Eat" foodie fundraiser and producing several large-scale music events for the Onteora Central School District. She served a term on the School Board, including briefly as its President. Max was instrumental in establishing with its founders the Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice. She has been a longstanding member of the Woodstock Jewish Congregation. She holds an A.B. in History from Brown University and a Masters in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.
Program and Outreach Coordinator: Kate Berdan
The newest member of our team is Kate Berdan, who has joined us as the Program & Outreach Coordinator for the Woodstock Land Conservancy. Kate grew up in Schoharie County and graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a degree in Geography and minor in Environmental Studies. Since her undergraduate education, Kate has focused her career on land conservation through internships and volunteer work with The Nature Conservancy Adirondack Chapter, the Huyck Preserve, Saratoga PLAN, and the Otsego Land Trust. She is very excited to be working closely with the community of Woodstock to preserve the beautiful and diverse landscapes of the Catskills. Kate is an avid hiker and is eager to explore the mountains and trails around Woodstock and learn about the history of the area.
